Description:	Sailing on the wings of the wind as my ship approached Lahaina, I was astonished by the vision that came into view: in a pool of golden light, ships swayed with the silky waves and palm trees danced against the cerulean sky. Glimpses of red and white puzzled me, until the colors pieced themselves into an elegant structure ashore. I couldn't help but imagine the long-ago whaling era that inspired Moby Dick when Lahaina was a forest of masts, nor could I wait to set foot on this port, the famous spot for pleasure, fishing, and whale watching.
